Empowering Charter Schools: McKinney Vento 101 Foundations

How ready is your charter school to recognize and support a student experiencing homelessness? Through an interactive student scenario, participants will explore the foundations of McKinney-Vento implementation within the charter-school context. The session connects eligibility and identification with immediate enrollment, school-of-origin transportation, accurate PEIMS coding, access to services, barrier removal, and cross-department coordination. Participants will leave with practical questions and actionable steps for strengthening systems so that students receive timely, consistent support.
